QR Code Generator for Product Packaging
Turn your packaging into a marketing channel. Print a QR code on boxes, labels, inserts, or instructions — customers scan for setup videos, warranty registration, recipes, refill ordering, or your brand story. Cheap real estate, huge upside.
Free PNG download. SVG and EPS export coming with Pro.
Why use this generator
- Post-purchase onboarding: scan-to-watch a 60-second setup video instead of a paper manual nobody reads.
- Warranty registration: QR opens the registration form pre-filled with product ID.
- Refill / reorder: scan from an empty bottle straight to the reorder page.
- Recipes & usage: food and beauty brands link to recipes, tutorials, or pairing suggestions.
- Brand story / sustainability: tell the 'where does this come from' story without crowding the label with text.
- Compliance / safety data: link to MSDS, ingredient lists, or care instructions.
How it works
- 1Pick the URL — typically a product-specific landing page on your site (not just your homepage).
- 2Match colors to your packaging — but verify contrast against your background color so scanners don't struggle.
- 3Use error correction High (30%) — packaging gets scuffed in shipping and handling.
- 4Download the PNG. Send to your printer as part of the artwork. 0.6 inch minimum on small bottles, 1+ inch on boxes.
Frequently asked questions
- How small can the QR get on a small bottle or label?
- 0.6 inch (15mm) square is the practical minimum at 300 DPI with error correction set to High. Below that, scan reliability drops fast — especially under store lighting or with budget phone cameras.
- What if I want to change what the QR points to later?
- Static QR codes encode the URL directly — to change the destination you'd reprint the packaging (expensive). Dynamic QR codes (QR Pro, $9/month) let you swap the destination without reprinting. Critical for seasonal campaigns or moving content around.
- Can the QR work across regions / languages?
- Yes — point it at a single landing page that detects the user's language and serves the right content. Or with Pro dynamic codes, use per-region codes that route to language-specific destinations.
- Does the color matter on packaging?
- Contrast matters more than color. A black-on-white code always scans. Brand-colored codes work IF the foreground is significantly darker than the background. Test the printed sample on 3 different phones before mass production.
- Will the QR survive shipping and shelf life?
- With error correction at High, the code tolerates ~30% surface damage before failing. Laminated or varnished packaging holds up indefinitely; bare cardboard scuffs faster.
